Hi there!

This is TeachmeJoomla's tabbed module positions slider.(sounds complicated, I know)

TMJTS allows you to display Joomla! modules in a multi level tabbed layout.

This is an unique Jomla! module written by TeachMeJoomla. We call it TMJ Tab Slider(TMJTS).

The key to TMJTS is the 'modules within module' technique. you can tell TMJTS to load several Joomla! modules and render them as tabs. Those modules can, in turn, contain other TMJTS instances, and render more tabs themselves.

The sliding tabs concept and parts of the javascript code were inspired by Creative Pony's Sliding Tabs .

Please hover on the 'More info' tab for detailed information.

  • Introduction
  • Features
  • Configuration and customization

TeachMeJoomla Tabs Slider allows you to better use your website space by displaying Joomla modules and content in a tabbed layout.

You can also nest tabs, creating a hierarchical tab display just like this one.

We succesfully tested 2 tab levels on IE6,IE7,FF2,and Opera 9 browsers.

TMJTS is written in Mootools 1.1 Javascript and PHP.

TMJTS is not yet available for download. We're waiting for your feedback before releasing the first public version.

  • TMJTS is itself a module. therefore, you can load your tabs in a template position('left', 'right', 'header', etc). You can also display tabs in a content item, using Joomla! code.
  • TMJTS layout is CSS based, you can customize each individual button.
  • No template modifications are needed at installation time.
  • You can configure each tab group to load modules wrapped tables, single div or multi div containers (it supports Joomla! module loading options)
  • TMJTS supports a slideshow mode. The slideshow will be automatically stopped when the visitor starts hovers the mouse pointer over the tabs.
  • TMJTS allows a flexible layout, and automatically adjusts the tab widths when the browser window is resized.
  • TMJTS automatically resizes the tabs container to accomodate the height of the current tab.
  • TMJ Tabs Slider is both user friendly and Search engine friendly. All the text contained in the tabs gets indexed, so you don't have to worry about SEO issues.

Configurable options:

  • loaded modules style(each tab is in fact a single module or a module group)
  • activation event(wether the sliding should start on mouseover, on mouse click, on mouse double click)
  • slide effect type and duration
  • slideshow on/off
  • initial tab to jump to

You can , of course, customize the tabs visual appearence by CSS.

Looks like a nice technology demo that someone isn't going to release to the wild. Too bad - Liberate it before someone else clones it and gets all the glory.
